Honest Review of Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Tanning Foam
If you’re looking for your best Summer glow with a deep, natural-looking tan you’ll love this review of Coco & Eve Sunny Honey self-tan. I’m a self-tanner skeptic, I love self-tanners that are quick and efficient… one application and done- and many just don’t give me that deep glow that I’m looking for. I kept seeing Coco & Eve’s customer reviews online (social media and sites where it’s sold) and was shocked about how many positive reviews they have! So I knew I had to put the tanner to the test.
I like to get spray tans – like a good professional spray tan because I feel like the color gets deeper and tends to last longer. So, in this post, I test Coco & Eve Self tanner to see if it will give me that professional-looking tan.
Below I share everything you need to know about Coco & Eve Sunny Honey – application, color guide, scent, price, size, and wear. I tested the shade Ultra Dark and was shocked by the results!
I prefer foaming self-tanner because they dry fast and are pretty foolproof to apply. Also, I don’t mind a color guide- which is when a tanner has a tint so you know where you applied it. This makes it really easy to ensure that you’ll have a streak-free tan.

One thing that surprised me about Coco & Eve’s tanner is they recommend giving it 30 minutes to dry before getting dressed… Yikes, that’s a long time!
How to Use Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Self Tan Mousse:
1. First thing that is a must- Shave and exfoliate thoroughly (ideally 6-24 hours before.)
2. Apply moisturizer to your hands and feet paying particular attention to your ankles and wrists. Apply to your elbows and front of your knees too- this helps the product not stick to the dry skin and look too dark.
2. Apply the mousse to the mitt then use circular motions to blend as you go to ensure even coverage.
4. Allow to develop for a minimum of 2 hours or overnight for a deeper tan.
5. Shower in warm water to remove the guide color and pat your skin dry.
My thoughts on Coco & Eve vs. Loving Tan
The first time I applied it I was so impressed with the tan color! The application was pretty straightforward. I was caught off guard by how green Coco & Eve Sunny Honey was. I thought there was NO WAY it could look normal when the color set but it did! It also smells really good! Like sweet & coco butter- but it is heavily fragranced so if that isn’t your thing you should know that up front. It dried down just fine- it did not take the 30 minutes that they said it would. The best part was that I was able to get dressed within minutes of finishing the application and I didn’t stain my clothes.
I applied Loving Tan to one full leg then the Coco & Eve self tan to the rest of my body and went to bed. When I woke up I didn’t have the biscuit smell like a typical self-tanner and I didn’t have bronzer all over my sheets!
The next day when I rinsed off the color guide the tans were very close to the same color! The darkness was almost identical. As the days went on I feel like the Loving Tan turned more orange and the Coco & Eve gave me the best bronzed glow. I had a very even application, even on my feet and hands because I used a kabuki brush.
After 5 days I still had great color from Coco & Eve self tan! It was very deep and looked natural on my pale skin.
