27 Best Non-Toxic Perfumes That Are Clean and Natural
Making the switch to clean and non-toxic perfume can be difficult. In 2023, I made the switch to non-toxic products so I know first-hand how hard it can be. All of my favorite products seemed to have super toxic ingredients that were ruining my hormone levels. Thankfully, through trial and error, I’ve found some amazing products that I love. This post has 27 brands of Non-Toxic Perfumes That Are Clean and Natural.
I’ve done lots of research on fragrances and their ingredients. Here are the Organic Non-Toxic Perfume brands/ products that I would recommend and use myself (my absolute favorite are Rosie Jane and Henry Rose fragrances!). I also have a full post about my favorite clean foundations here, clean self-tanners here, and clean lip glosses here!

What is Clean Perfume?
The safest clean perfume is entirely natural and curated without any synthetic additives like petrochemicals, fragrance oils, dyes, parabens, phthalates, or chemical fragrances. Conventional fragrances are comprised of a synthetic blend potentially consisting of numerous undisclosed chemicals, protected by trade secret laws.
Approximately 3,000 chemicals are employed in fragrance production, with several identified as hormone and endocrine disruptors, while others remain unstudied. Lots of people, myself included, experience migraines triggered by these fragrance chemicals.
It’s crucial to keep in mind that most clean perfume brands nowadays aren’t completely natural and contain synthetic elements. This applies to all major brands available at Sephora, like The 7 Virtues, Ellis Brooklyn, and Dime Beauty. I mention this not to criticize them, but to ensure you have all the facts when making your decision.
The safest way to enjoy perfume is by avoiding synthetics and choosing trustworthy non-toxic fragrance brands that use botanical extracts from nature instead.
How to Tell if Your Perfume is Safe and Non-Toxic
The best way to find clean and organic perfume is by educating yourself and identifying harmful ingredients, you will be well on your way to knowing exactly what ingredients to look out for in your products. It gets a lot easier over time, I promise.
Thankfully, some resources can help out! Here are some great websites/apps:
EWG.org is an amazing resource for all things in our home. From cleaning products and laundry soap to beauty products, you’ll find useful information here. They give products a number rating out of 10 and I like to look for products with a rating of 3 or less (a rating of 0 means it is EWG verified and there are no harmful ingredients). You can even search for specific ingredients to see how toxic they are,
Yuka App. This mobile app allows you to scan your products at the store while you shop. This app gives products a rating out of 100 (100 being the best). You can also scan food items with this app as well. I find that this app has a bigger database than EWG.
