Everything you need to know about Dazzle Dry
Dazzle Dry is considered a healthy gel polish alternative because it delivers 7-14 days of wear. Another popular feature of Dazzle Dry is that it air dries in 5 minutes, and like regular nail polish, can be removed with an easy swipe of nail polish remover on a cotton pad.
It does not contain reactive ingredients, monomers, and photoinitiators that may cause allergic reactions and skin sensitivities. The system is the cleanest of all solvent-based polishes/lacquers on the market today. It’s vegan, cruelty-free (no animal testing!), hypoallergenic, and non-toxic. Dazzle Dry says their products will not turn your nail yellows like other brands because they do not contain nitrocellulose
They also focus on being eco-friendly and use biodegradable packaging, and they are a woman-owned company. Their products are manufactured in Arizona, USA.
Dazzle Dry has over 150 lacquer colors available!
What comes in the Dazzle Dry Mini Kit:
I purchased the Mini Kit for $38 from Amazon. The color I tried is called Prima Ballerina.
It comes with:
- Nail Prep (New Formula) (.25 fl oz/ 7.5ml)
- Base Coat (.17 fl oz/ 5 ml)
- Nail lacquer
- Top Coat (.17 fl oz/ 5 ml)
- Revive (.17 fl oz/ 5 ml)
If you were to buy each item separately the nail prep is $18, base coat, color, & top coat are $22. And revive is $15
Or you can get the full-size set for $85
If you buy each item separately it would be $99 so it’s definitely worth it to get the sets!
How to apply Dazzle Dry Nail Polish
Step 1: NAIL PREP- gives you a longer-lasting manicure with the perfect nail canvas. Nail Prep cleanses the nail plate while providing beneficial moisture and vitamins that support the nails’ strength and flexibility.
TO USE- Scrub each nail thoroughly with Nail Prep to remove any oils or lotions. I used a paper towel and it worked well.
Step 2: BASE COAT- is specifically formulated for natural nails to keep polish lasting longer. Not for use on acrylic or artificial nails.
TO USE- Apply two layers to each nail, allowing each coat to dry matte. Avoid contact with cuticles and skin to prevent lifting.
- If your Base Coat is cloudy or jelly-like, stand the bottle in one inch of hot water until the product becomes clear. Do not microwave or submerge in water. I’ve had my products for one month and it has already turned cloudy- this is normal and not a bad thing.
Step 3: LACQUER
TO USE- Apply two layers of Nail Lacquer to each nail, allowing each layer to dry matte. Avoid contact with cuticles and skin to prevent lifting.
- If Nail Lacquer is thick, add 6-8 drops of Revive to full-size bottles and 3-5 drops for mini bottles (or more, if necessary).
Step 4: TOP COAT- quick-drying, non-yellowing Top Coat provides a high gloss finish and protection against abrasion.
TO USE- Apply one layer of Top Coat to each nail after the Lacquer has dried matte. Wait five minutes—your manicure is done!
- If the Top Coat is thick, add 6-8 drops of Revive to full-size bottles and 3-5 drops for mini bottles (or more, if necessary).
REVIVE- Your Nail Lacquers and Top Coat may become thick when some of the liquid naturally evaporates. Don’t worry, that is normal! Revive was designed to reconstitute your products to the perfect consistency.
TO USE- Add 6-8 drops of Revive to a Top Coat or Nail Lacquer whose consistency is too thick. Add more if necessary. **DO NOT add Revive to a Base Coat. It will ruin the product. Store with original cap to prevent evaporation from occurring
How to remove Dazzle Dry Nail Polish
Dazzle Dry can safely and easily be removed with acetone or non-acetone polish remover. No soaking, scraping, or filing is needed.
My thoughts on the Dazzle Dry system
The system is very easy to follow. I applied Step 1 with a cotton round and was left with fuzzies on my nails so I redid it with a paper towel and it worked much better.
The first coat of the base coat became matte after a few minutes but the second coat didn’t seem to dry down. I waited quite a while and then moved on to the lacquer hoping I wasn’t messing anything up.
The first coat of the lacquer became matte easily too, but again, the second coat didn’t seem to want to dry down.
I decided to apply the top coat and see if it would still dry in 5 minutes. I set a timer from the application to my first finger, and another timer from the application of my last finger to really test the 5-minute “quick dry time”. IT’S LEGIT!!! It really does dry in 5 minutes! I am so impressed! This would be amazing for kids who can’t hold still long enough for their nails to dry.
The color I tested is the perfect color too!
How long does Dazzle Dry really last?
The first time I applied it it only lasted 3 days but I do think it was user error. I’m not the best at applying polish and I did get some on my cuticles. My thumb and pointer finger started to chip first but even 3 days is a miracle for me. Usually, polish lasts barely 1 day on my weak, flimsy nails.
I decided to test the polish again and it lasted a full 7 days! I’m sold. This set is incredible, especially if you have nails like mine. Which, if you do, I highly suggest you use this nail strengthener. It has made a big difference in how bendy and peely my nails are.
My final thoughts on Dazzle Dry
I really like how it goes on like regular polish but looks way shinier and gives you long-lasting wear! The four-step system actually takes me less time to apply and the fast drying applications make it a breeze compared to all of the at-home manicures I’ve tried. As much as I like a gel manicure, I don’t like removing them. I feel like they’re a great way to damage my own nails (especially when I remove them at home LOL). I feel like a Dazzle Dry manicure is *almost* as good as a gel mani & doesn’t use damaging UV light. The long-lasting nail polish is super shiny and this will definitely become my go-to color. I also went to my local nail salon and asked if they could use my Dazzle Dry products and they said they do all the time! The fact that Dazzle Dry has less harmful ingredients than gel and many nail polishes on the market, the drying time is so quick, and so many options for nail polish color… I’m sold!
Here are all of the products I use in my nail routine:
Dazzle Dry Mini Kit System – Prima Ballerina
Glass nail file (these are amazing if you don’t like the feel of standard nail files! So much smoother!)
Wood Cuticle pushers (these are more gentle than the metal ones)
